The Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign is underway this week, with proceeds supporting student nutrition programs across several South Kent communities.
Running through May 3, all funds raised from Smile Cookie sales at participating South Kent Tim Hortons locations will go toward the Ontario Student Nutrition Program, which helps provide healthy breakfast and snack options for students in Tilbury, Blenheim, Thamesville and Ridgetown.
The initiative is supported by local Tim Hortons owners Cara Gragtmans and Dan Gragtmans, along with Eric Skillings, treasurer of the Blenheim and Merlin School Breakfast Program. Organizers also acknowledged the efforts of community leaders and education officials, including Jen Morrow, superintendent of education with the St. Clair Catholic District School Board, Amy Ostropolec from the Ontario Student Nutrition Program, and Chatham-Kent Mayor Darrin Canniff for helping raise awareness.
“Every student deserves the chance to start their day nourished and ready to learn. The Smile Cookie Campaign is a wonderful reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together with care and compassion. Each Smile Cookie purchased helps ensure our students have access to healthy meals that support their success in the classroom,” said Morrow.
The campaign encourages residents in the South Kent area to support local students by purchasing Smile Cookies throughout the week.
