Chatham woman charged after alleged impaired driving investigation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 35-year-old Chatham woman is facing impaired driving charges following a traffic complaint in Chatham.

According to the Chatham-Kent Police Service, officers were dispatched to the area of St. Clair Street and Pioneer Line on May 15, 2026, at approximately 5:33 p.m.

Police said they located the vehicle and spoke with the female driver before making an Approved Screening Device demand. The device registered a “Fail.”

The woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters for further testing, which allegedly revealed a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.

As a result, the woman was charged with operation while impaired — alcohol and operation while impaired — blood alcohol concentration (80 Plus).

She was later released with a future court date of June 23, 2026.
