Wardsville woman charged after alleged impaired driving investigation in Blenheim

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 41-year-old Wardsville woman is facing charges after police investigated a report of erratic driving in Blenheim.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were dispatched to Chatham Street North on May 16, 2026, at approximately 10:07 p.m.

Police located the vehicle parked in a parking lot with a woman in the driver’s seat. Officers allegedly detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage on her breath and observed her slurring her words.

The woman was arrested for operation while impaired and transported to police headquarters, where police said she was given an opportunity to provide breath samples.

She was additionally charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand.

The accused was later released with a future court date of June 23, 2026.
