Three charged following investigation into violent incidents in Sarnia

Sarnia Police officials allege: Three people are facing charges following an investigation into multiple violent incidents in Sarnia between October 2025 and May 2026.

The Sarnia Police Service said members of its Major Case Action Team, Criminal Investigation Division and Emergency Response Team investigated reports involving assaults, forcible confinement and threats against two victims.

Police alleged the victims were assaulted and forcibly confined during incidents at a residence on Russell Street in October and November 2025. Investigators said one of the victims was shot in the face with what is believed to have been a BB gun.

Police also alleged another man attended the residence armed with a knife, threatened the victims, stabbed a bed near them, threw a table at one victim and assaulted the other while making death threats.

A second incident allegedly occurred Jan. 11 at a residence on Devine Street. Police said two suspects attended the home under the pretense of apologizing for a previous assault before allegedly preventing the victims from leaving and assaulting them. During the incident, one victim was allegedly struck in the head with a cup.

Investigators also received evidence of threatening Facebook Messenger communications allegedly sent to the victims in March and May 2026 containing repeated death threats.

On May 22, members of the Sarnia Police Service executed multiple search warrants and arrested two Sarnia residents without incident.

A 59-year-old Sarnia man has been charged with two counts of assault, three counts of assault with a weapon, four counts of uttering threats to cause death, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of forcible confinement and breach of a release order.

A 48-year-old Sarnia man has been charged with two counts of assault and two counts of forcible confinement.

Police have also issued an arrest warrant for a 41-year-old man in connection with the investigation. He is wanted on charges including assault, forcible confinement, carrying a concealed weapon, causing bodily harm with intent using an air gun or pistol, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon and breach of probation.

The two accused who were arrested were held for bail hearings.
