Mary Rosseel

It is with great great sadness, and years too early, that we announce that on Monday, May 25th, Mary Rosseel passed away peacefully in hospital in Wallaceburg after a short battle with cancer at the age of 79. Mary was born on July 9th, 1946 in the Netherlands, the daughter of the late Anne and Dirk Vanderwerf. She married Maurice Rosseel on July 23rd of 1966. They had 23 years of happiness together until his death in 1989. Mary was a loving Mother to sons Steven and Allen and a devoted Grandmother to Meghan, Alex and Lauren. Mary loved gathering her family together. She will be greatly missed by her sisters Barb (John) and Audrey (late Bob), her brothers Sid and Rick (late Gizelle), and her nieces and nephews, Carolyn, Jennifer, Robert, Karen and Kiah. She was a remarkable woman whose faith, generosity, and strength shaped every part of her life. A devoted mother, grandmother, and community member, she lived her values through tireless service, kindness, and love. Her perseverance, compassion, and joy in giving touched everyone who knew her. The late Mary Rosseel is resting at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd., 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Friday May 29th from 4-8pm and Saturday, May 30th from 9:30-10:30AM. The funeral Mass will be on Saturday May 30th at 11AM at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 422 Elgin St, Wallaceburg. Internment at Riverview Cemetery Wallaceburg. Reception to follow in the Church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to Society of St. VIncent De Paul Wallaceburg would be appreciated. The Family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff for the exceptional care that she received in the medicine unit at the Sydenham Campus of the C.K.H.A.
