London woman charged with impaired driving after Highway 401 collision near Chatham

OPP officials allege: A 24-year-old London woman is facing impaired driving charges following a single-vehicle collision on Highway 401 near Chatham.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers were called to the eastbound lanes near Orford Road on May 31 at approximately 3:06 a.m. after reports of a crash in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

The accused was charged with operation while impaired and dangerous operation under the Criminal Code.

Police say a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment were issued under provincial regulations.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Chatham on July 13, 2026.

The Ontario Provincial Police are reminding motorists to report suspected impaired or dangerous driving.
