Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 13-year-old Chatham resident has been charged following a reported break-and-enter and theft from a garage on Bordeaux Place.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said homeowners contacted police at approximately 7:03 p.m. on June 8 after discovering a scooter had been taken from inside their garage.
Through the investigation, officers located both the suspect and the stolen scooter.
The youth was arrested and charged with break-and-enter to commit an indictable offence, theft under $5,000, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and later released on a Form 10 undertaking with a court date scheduled for July 8, 2026.
