More than $105,000 was raised during the fourth annual Run for the Kids in support of children and youth receiving services through the Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent.
The event, held June 14 at Rondeau Provincial Park, drew hundreds of participants who walked, ran and moved to raise funds for local programs and services.
The day included a 200-metre Kids Dash, a five-kilometre walk, run and move event, family activities and entertainment designed to encourage participation from people of all ages and abilities.
“Run for the Kids continues to demonstrate the incredible generosity of our community,” said Mike Genge, president and CEO of the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent. “The support behind this event helps ensure local children and youth have access to programs and services that make a meaningful difference in their lives. We are grateful to everyone who helped make this year’s event such a success.”
Funds raised through the event support programs and services not funded through government sources, including social work, therapeutic recreation, music therapy and specialized equipment.
The Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation thanked participants, volunteers, sponsors and community partners for their support of the event.
