Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 32-year-old Wallaceburg woman is facing impaired driving charges after police received a report of an intoxicated person leaving a Wallaceburg restaurant in a vehicle.
Chatham-Kent police say officers responded to the report on July 22 at approximately 2:15 p.m. after the individual left the restaurant on McNaughton Avenue and got behind the wheel.
Officers located the vehicle on Bluewater Line and conducted a traffic stop, police said.
Following an investigation, the woman was arrested for impaired operation and taken to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for further testing, where she provided breath samples over the legal limit, according to police.
She has been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.
The woman was released with a scheduled court date of Aug. 31, 2026.
