With strength in her faith Charlene Da Costa passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at the Chatham Kent Hospice at the age of 76. Charlene was a daughter of the late Charles and Anne (Van De Venne) Benn.
Beloved wife and best friend to Arthur Da Costa.
Loving mother of Cary (Oana Andronache) Da Costa, Cindy Da Costa and Mark (Philippe Cabana) Da Costa. She will be deeply missed by her grandson Louis.
Dearly missed by her sister Sally Gale, her brother Marcel (the late Linda) Benn and a sister-in-law of Maria (Bill) Seto.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Charlene was a devoted member of the Our Lady of Help Parish in Wallaceburg and was a member of their Catholic Women’s League. She was a member of the choir at the church and always loved music and teaching her kids how to play the piano. Charlene was a registered nurse and always used her skills and compassion to assist anyone ever in need. She found peace in her garden and enjoyed her flowers. Preparing meals and cooking for the family was just her way of making sure everyone was looked after.
The late Charlene Da Costa is resting at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.
Family and friends are invited for visitation on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 from 4-7pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 11am from Our Lady of Help Church.
Interment will take place in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.
As an expression of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Chatham Kent Hospice or the Canadian Red Cross would be appreciated.
