Fred Williams Jr., known affectionately to his community as ‘Dumpy’, passed away in Sarnia on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at the age of 70.
A member of Walpole Island First Nation, Fred was the son of the late Fred Sr. and Helen (Johnson) Williams and the father of Douglas and the late Jimmy. Brother of Ronald Williams (Vicky), Randy Williams and the late Joni.
He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, especially Dennis, Alicia, Stephanie, Brady, Jillian, Brian, Raeanna, Savanah, Cecilia, Jon, Preston, Aimy-Lynn, Dylan and great nieces & nephews Mitchell, Isabella, Orlando, Jasper, Pricilla and Giizhik-Lee.
Dumpy was a top hunting guide and was well known as a cue master in the game of billiards.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 4 – 7 PM on Wednesday, August 5. The funeral will be celebrated at the Walpole Island Sports Complex on Thursday, August 6 at 1 PM. Interment to follow at Highbanks Cemetery.
