With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Wilfred “Will (aka Wilf)” Durance. He was born in Sarnia and was a son of the late Edward Durance and Frank & Emily VanKryssen. He passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at Blue water Health, in Sarnia at the age of 73 years.
He will always be remembered by his best friend and wife Carrie (LaMarsh) Durance.
Dear father of Matthew Durance, Tammy Durance and dear grandfather of Tanner.
Kind brother of Don (the late Rhetta) Regnier, Diane (the late Rene) Kleuskens, Annette (Paul) Spect), Rose (Walter) Northcott, Linda Hopkins and Brenda (Gerry) Babineau. Predeceaased by his brother Ernest, His sisters, Mary (the late Bob) Toulouse and Marie (surviving Lloyd Seaton) Marriott.
He will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Will had a very fond view of the outdoors. He loved the mountains and the majestic beauty of Nature. He loved camping and always enjoyed listening to his favourite music.
He is resting at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.
Following his wishes, cremation will take place.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 3:30pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall
As an expression of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Blue Water Health Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated.
