Wayne Elliott Fisher, a member of Walpole Island First Nation, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026 at the age of 79, surrounded by his family.
Wayne was the loving husband of Jen Altiman. Son of the late Stanley Dodge and Evangeline Fisher and loving father of Tina and Neegaasin Waagoosnnin Aquash and Moses Fisher (Shayne Johnson) and the late Michelle Brady and Christina Fisher. Dear Grandfather to Jarrod Riley, Crystal Pennell, April Archer, Dawson O’Neil, Rhilynn Johnson and Jayce Johnson and the late Tahja Cadotte. Brother of Lorraine John, Garnet Dodge, Ellen Thomas, Eric Thomas, and the late Louis Johnson, Jeffrey Thomas, Ava Hammock, Leona Isaac, Linda Thomas, Josephine Fisher, and JC Thomas.
Wayne is loved and missed by his great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at 1846 River Road.
The funeral will be held at the same location on Wednesday, August 26th at 11:00am.
A feast will then be held at the Walpole Island Sports Complex after the customary last ride around the island.
