‘Glass Panel’ project taking place in Wallaceburg
The Wallaceburg and District Museum is presenting The Glass Panel for its second year.
The Glass Panel is similar to The Dragon’s Den television show with students researching local businesses and pitching ideas to a panel of judges on how those business can improve.
The best student ideas and pitches will be awarded first, second, and third place prizes.
A total of nine teams of Grade 12 students are each working with a local business to interview the owners and managers regarding the history of the business, discuss ways to expand and improve the business, and will create a final report and presentation.
Businesses and the public are invited to attend the panel presentation event as it is a great activity that promotes entrepreneurship, education, business development, and community involvement.
Note: The Glass Panel name comes from one of the first industries in Wallaceburg, The Sydenham Glass, and the calls on the history of Wallaceburg being known as The Glass Town.
The event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 15.
