New branch head at Blenheim & Merlin libraries

The Chatham-Kent Public Library has announced that Erica Nauta is the new branch head for the Blenheim and Merlin libraries.

“Erica holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education from Brock University, as well as a Masters of Library and Information Sciences from University of Western Ontario,” library officials say.

“She lives in Blenheim with her two cats, Gunther and Stanley. You may have even seen her walking Stanley around the block.”

Nauta started her library career working as a student page at Blenheim branch during high school.

“And, before coming back to work at CKPL in 2017, Erica worked at Blenheim District High School as the Library Supervisor,” library officials say.

“Erica is excited to once again be working in the Blenheim community, and for the short commute to work. Once the pandemic is under control, Erica is looking forward to working with community partners and local organizations to connect the public with all the library has to offer.”

At this time, libraries are open for curbside service.

Stop by during any of their open hours to request and check out books, DVDs, board games and more, library officials say.

Place holds at search.ckpl.ca and pick them up curbside, request a Subscription Bag.

CKPL’s Seed Library will be available starting March 20, and all of staff is working hard to create spring break programming for all ages.
