Public information meetings set to discuss special event applications

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent reviews an average of 210 special event applications a year.

During the pandemic, special events had to either be cancelled or modified to meet Ontario Regulations.

As the Provincial Government lifts restrictions, special event applications are increasing.

The Municipality would like to invite special event organizers to attend one of three public information meetings on how to apply for a special event permit, Municipal officials say.

At this meeting, organizers will be able to meet with staff, obtain paper copies of the special event application and learn where they can find electronic versions for download and printing purposes.

A presentation on the application process will be given, as well as a question and answer session.

The public information meetings dates and locations are:

– March 29 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thames Campus Arena in the Red Line Room.

– March 30 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Blenheim Arena in the Blue Line Room.

– March 31 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Wallaceburg Memorial Area in the Jack Backus Mezzanine Room.

Municipal officials are asking people to select a date and location that works best for your organization.
