OPP officials allege: On July 4, 2023, at approximately 10:04 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on the westbound Highway 401, Municipality of Chatham Kent, after it was found travelling more than 50 Km/h over the posted limit.
As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old of Milton was charged with:
– Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed
– Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
– Driver fail to surrender licence
– Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
OPP officials allege: On July 7, 2023, at approximately 9:17 a.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on the westbound Highway 401 near the 74-kilometer marker, Municipality of Chatham Kent, after it was found travelling more than 30 Km/h over the posted limit.
As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old of Kitchener was charged with:
– Driving while under suspension
– Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit
OPP officials allege: On July 7, 2023, at approximately 12:04 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on Horton Line, Municipality of Chatham Kent, for using a license plate not authorized for the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old of Blenheim was charged with:
– Use plate not authorized for vehicle
– Fail to have insurance card
– Driver fail to surrender licence
– Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
– Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
– Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner
OPP officials allege: On July 9, 2023, at approximately 7:58 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on westbound Highway 401 near the 109 Kilometer Marker, Municipality of Chatham Kent, after it was found travelling more than 50 Km/h over the posted limit.
As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old of Kitchener was charged with:
– Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed
– Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
– Driver fail to surrender licence
– Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
Anyone charged with Drive motor vehicle – Perform Stunt receives a 14-day impoundment of the involved motor vehicle and a 30-day driver’s licence suspension as per statute.
