Man arrested for assault
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 12:21 p.m., police responded to a business on Queens Line in Tilbury East Township for an assault investigation.
Through investigation, police learned a dispute between two men escalated when one assaulted the other.
There was also evidence to charge the man with theft.
The 55-year-old Merlin man was charged with assault and theft.
He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of November 27, 2023.
Youth arrested for assault
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 11:06 p.m., police responded to Mill Street West in Tilbury for an assault investigation.
Police learned a verbal argument occurred between a teenage boy and his mother.
The argument escalated when there was a struggle over a cell phone.
The mother fell to the ground, and the youth kicked her.
The youth then punched a TV, causing it to break.
The youth was located by police and arrested.
The 17-year-old Tilbury youth was charged with assault and mischief.
He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of December 14, 2023.
Man arrested for robbery
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On October 23, 2023, at 4:06 a.m., police responded to Grand Avenue West in Chatham for a robbery investigation.
Police learned the victim was at a friend’s home when the man confronted them.
The man demanded the victim turn over the contents of his pockets while threatening him with a knife.
The man was located at his residence and arrested.
Upon a search, incident to arrest, suspected cocaine was found in the man’s possession.
Officers also confirmed the man was bound by a release order prohibiting him from possessing any weapons.
The 36-year-old Chatham man was charged with robbery, failing to comply with a release order and possessing a controlled substance.
He was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
