Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) is pleased to welcome two new physicians.
Dr. Fernanda Berto joins CKHA as a Urologist and Dr. Stephanie Jarrin joins as a Pediatrician.
These physicians bring a wealth of experience and expertise to, enhancing the commitment to providing high quality, patient family centred care to the community of Chatham-Kent, hospital officials say.
“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Berto and Dr. Jarrin to our healthcare team at CKHA,” said Dr. Zeke Milkovic, Acting Chief of Staff, in a press release.
“Their skills and dedication to our community’s well-being align perfectly with our goals of the hospital, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact they provide in Chatham-Kent.”
Originally from Brazil and fluent in both English and Portuguese, Dr. Berto earned her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sao Paulo in 2011.
She completed a two-year residency in General Surgery followed by a three-year residency in Urology at the same institution.
Since 2019, she has continued to enhance her training at Western University – Schulich School of Medicine, in London, where she is completing an Endourology Fellowship, a Master of Science degree, and an Andrology and Reconstruction Fellowship.
“Having friends in common with Dr. Abdi, I heard only good things about both CKHA and the patients in the Chatham-Kent area” said Dr. Berto, in a press release.
“I’m grateful for the kind welcome by CKHA, and I’m honoured to join the team. I will strive to continue providing high-quality urological care.”
Dr. Berto is committed to providing urological care in the region and has opened her clinic in the community, sharing office space with fellow urologist Dr. Christopher Langley.
She is now welcoming new referrals.

Dr. Jarrin earned a Bachelor of Science in Medical Radiation Science from McMaster University.
Following her degree, she spent six years working as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in Toronto before pursuing her Doctorate in Medicine at the American University of Antigua, which she completed in 2018.
Dr. Jarrin pursued a three-year residency in Pediatrics in Brooklyn, New York and most recently, she served as a Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellow at the University of Maryland in Baltimore from 2021 to 2023.
In 2024, Dr. Jarrin relocated to Ontario to be closer to her family.
With two young daughters and her husband working in London, Chatham-Kent was the ideal location for their family to call home.
“I am committed to bringing a compassionate and patient-centered approach to healthcare. I look forward to combining my expertise with a deep commitment to improving the well-being of every child,” said Dr. Jarrin, in a press release.
“I am excited to be part of a team that values collaboration and innovation, striving to provide the highest level of care to the community.”
