The magic of Disney is coming to life as Ursuline College Chatham (UCC) presents Disney’s Descendants: The Musical from April 9-12 at 7 p.m. With tickets selling fast, this high-energy production promises an unforgettable mix of comedy, adventure, and hit songs from the beloved Disney Channel Original Movies.
The musical follows the children of Disney’s most infamous villains—Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella de Vil—as they navigate life at Auradon Prep, a school for the children of Disney’s greatest heroes. Torn between their wicked legacy and the chance to forge their own path, the teens must decide whether to embrace good or follow in their parents’ footsteps.
For Grade 12 student Francesca (Frankie) Foex, who plays Mal, the production has been an incredible experience. “The best part of this show has been the environment and spirit our cast, crew, and musicians have co-created,” she said. Grade 10 student Charlie Taylor, who plays Carlos, echoed her enthusiasm. “The characters are phenomenal, and the way we have all come together to embody this story… it’s going to be a fantastic show!”
Director and UCC teacher Rosanna Magliaro praised the dedication of the cast and crew. “The students are incredibly engaged, committed, and supportive of each other. It’s been such a joy to come together and create this theatre family,” she said.
