Sarnia Police Service officials allege: Police have laid charges after an attempted break-in on McGill Gate in the early hours of Sept. 14.
Officers were called around 3:40 a.m. after security cameras captured a man trying to enter a garage and vehicle. The suspect, wearing a hoodie and carrying a backpack, fled the scene but was located shortly afterward walking on Esser Crescent.
Police said the man matched the description and was arrested. Investigators confirmed he was under a probation order and linked him to another vehicle entry in the same neighbourhood.
The accused was charged with attempted break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime and breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing and later released with conditions.
