Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan bringing festive cheer to Wallaceburg and Dresden

The Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan is rolling back into Chatham-Kent this month, with Dresden and Wallaceburg set to take centre stage during its Dec. 12 tour through the region.

The annual travelling display kicked off its local celebrations with a stop at Sobeys in Chatham on Dec. 2, but the main community visits are scheduled for Dec. 12, when the brightly lit truck, Santa Claus and a full slate of holiday activities make their way across five communities.

Dresden will be the first stop of the evening, where the caravan will arrive at the Clock Tower Commons at 4:30 p.m. Local organizers are encouraging residents to meet at Rotary Park, wear red, and enjoy music, free candy canes and hot chocolate. Santa will also make an appearance as part of the one-hour visit.

The celebration continues an hour later in downtown Wallaceburg, where the caravan will stop in Parking Lot D at 5:30 p.m. The Wallaceburg BIA says families can get a free photo with Santa and are invited to support the Salvation Army’s holiday efforts by bringing canned goods or new or gently used winter clothing. Riversite Realty will be on hand to collect donations during the half-hour visit.

After leaving Wallaceburg, the caravan will carry on to Pain Court at 6:30 p.m., Chatham at 7 p.m., and Blenheim at 8:15 p.m., rounding out a full night of holiday festivities across the municipality.
