Motorcyclist seriously injured in two-vehicle collision on Queen’s Line

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 49-year-old man has been seriously injured following a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV on Queen’s Line in Chatham-Kent.

Chatham-Kent Police Service said emergency crews were called to the scene between Drake Road and Dillon Road at approximately 2:50 p.m. on March 30.

Police said the motorcycle was operated by a 49-year-old man from Raleigh Township, while the SUV was driven by a 40-year-old woman from Merlin. Both individuals were alone in their vehicles at the time of the collision.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was initially transported to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s Public General Campus before being airlifted to London Health Sciences Centre – Victoria Hospital for further treatment.

The driver of the SUV was assessed at the scene and did not require hospitalization.

Due to the severity of the injuries, the police service’s Traffic Management Unit has taken over the investigation, which remains ongoing.
