Police maintain presence in Chatham as fatal fire investigation continues

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: The Chatham-Kent Police Service is advising the public of an increased police presence in the area of King Street East as officers continue to investigate a fire in which a person was found deceased.

Police say members of the service are working alongside Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue and the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office, with crews remaining on scene as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and remains active. There are no concerns for public safety at this time.
