Highway 402 traffic stop results in multiple charges

OPP officials allege: An individual from Sarnia is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop on Highway 402 in Plympton-Wyoming.

Lambton County OPP officers conducted the stop on April 29, 2026, shortly after 12:30 a.m.

Police said a 35-year-old Sarnia resident was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, and stunt driving related to excessive speed.

A 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment were issued.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on June 1, 2026.

Police are reminding the public to report impaired driving by calling 911 in emergencies or 1-888-310-1122 for non-emergency complaints.
