Chatham man charged after damaging residence during argument

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 32-year-old Chatham man has been charged with mischief after allegedly damaging a residence on Prince Street North following a verbal argument.

On the early morning of Saturday, Aug. 30, 2026, at approximately 12:44 a.m., members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service were called to assist with an unwanted party at a residence located on Prince Street North in Chatham.

Upon arrival, police learned a male party had caused damage to the residence after a verbal argument took place.

As a result of the investigation, the man was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000.

He was brought to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters, where he was released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date of Nov. 24, 2026.
