The OPP are asking for the public’s help, as they continue to investigate a weekend incident near Bothwell.
Police say on March 11, just after 7:00 p.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report regarding an injury sustained by a 22 year-old female, from Ridgetown, while she was fishing on the bank of the Thames River, near Bothwell.
The female was taken to hospital where she was being treated for a non-life threatening injury.
Police say she has been released from hospital.
The OPP Crime Unit and the Moravian Police Service are conducting a joint investigation of the circumstances surrounding the incident and are seeking assistance from the public.
“The mechanism of injury has yet to be determined and is a focus of the investigation at this time,” CHatham-Kent OPP officials stated.
“Police would like to speak with anyone who may have heard or seen anything suspicious in the area of Thames River near Bothwell on Friday evening. ”
