At approximately 8:45 p.m. last night, emergency crews responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Tecumseh Line between Dauphin Road and Pump Road.
A man and his female passenger were travelling eastbound on Tecumseh Line when he lost control of his white Lincoln.
The vehicle left the roadway, rolled and came to rest in a field.
The 74-year-old Theodore (Ted) Wagenaar of Chatham was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with absent vital signs.
Medical personnel attempted life saving measures but were unsuccessful and he was later pronounced dead.
The 49-year-old Chatham woman was also transported to hospital for medical treatment of minor injuries.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Unit is currently investigation the collision. Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Todd Trahan at 519-355-1092.
