Firefighters at Station #3 brought in the New Year with a fire at 75 Dell Street in Wallaceburg.
Asst. Fire Chief Ric Scharf said the accidental blaze was caused by “smoking in bed.”
Scharf said $75,000 damage was caused to the residential home.
Firefighters got the call at 5:42 a.m.
Scharf said no injuries were caused as a result of the blaze.
Scharf added he encourages smokers to smoke outside.
