Ida Mae Kicknosway of Walpole Island First Nation

Ida-Kicknosway-1433923983Ida Mae Kicknosway, a resident of Walpole Island First Nation, died peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance in Chatham on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the age of 87.

Ida is the daughter of the late Simeon Blackbird and Ida Nahdee. Loving mother of Myrna and Bryan Loucks. Cherished grandmother of Stacey and Cindy, Gabriel, Isaiah and Kate, Jacob, Ben and grand daughter in law Jessica. Great grandmother of 11 and great great grandmother of 9. Dear sister of Keitha, Eliza, Sadie, Marena, Bill, Verena, Veronica and the late Frances, Betty and Simeon Jr. A little sister to Susan Aquash (Blackbird) and the late Sylvester Blackbird (surviving spouse Jennie). Ida will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive relatives and friends at her home on Walpole Island, 428 Tecumseh on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Service at St. John the Baptist, Anglican Church on Thursday, June 11, 2015, 2 pm followed by cremation.
