Last night, just before 9:00 p.m. police responded to a domestic disturbance in the Wallaceburg area.
Police say a man was allegedly assaulted by his common-law wife.
Through investigation, the man disclosed that this was not the first time that he had been the victim of domestic abuse.
The 56-year-old Wallaceburg woman was taken into custody and charged with two counts of assault.
She was released pending a future court date of November 3, 2015.
