Some leadership changes have taken place at the Foundation of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
Foundation of CKHA officials stated as the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) continues to go through a time of transition, the Foundation of CKHA has also considered opportunities to reposition the Foundation in light of their strategic directions and fundraising goals.
Effective immediately, Tom Kewley has been appointed to the position of Chair of the Foundation of CKHA Board of Directors.
Foundation of CKHA officials say Tom’s professional financial background and knowledge of the Foundation’s mission and values makes him the ideal candidate as the Foundation reviews our governance structure and performance. Tom has been active with the Foundation board for eight years.
The Foundation Board of Directors are now actively recruiting to fill vacancies on the board.
Interested applicants should have a keen interest in enhancing the quality of healthcare for citizens of Chatham-Kent at the Chatham and Sydenham Campuses and possess governance experience and financial literacy.

In the spirit of our partnership with the Hospital, we announce that Ms. Fannie Vavoulis has returned to the Hospital in the role of Director of Communications.
Foundation of CKHA officials say this change supports CKHA as it moves forward with its transformation and, at the same time, the Foundation benefits from Fannie’s understanding and appreciation of our role. In turn, CKHA will provide executive support and leadership to the Foundation on an interim basis.
Moving forward, the Foundation Board of Directors will secure a search firm to recruit a new Executive Director.
Currently, the CKHA is recruiting for a permanent President and Chief Executive Officer and Foundation of CKHA officials say they will work closely with the new CEO in our recruitment process that we expect to have fully underway in the spring.
This comprehensive search will involve a transparent and open recruitment process with involvement from the Board, staff, donors, hospital and the community.
In the interim, the Foundation will continue to operate as planned and they are continuing with the $6.9 million Diagnostic Imaging Equipment Renewal Campaign.
To date, the community has contributed over $4 million to the campaign.
The Foundation of CKHA kicked off the Christmas season last week with our largest fundraiser of the year, the 27th Annual Christmas Wish Tree campaign.
