Hydro workers confronted with firearm in Dawn-Euphemia

A Dawn-Euphemia man face several charges after allegedly confronting some hydro workers with a firearm.

On November 14, 2016 the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) commenced an investigation in relation to a complaint of threatening behaviour.

Investigation revealed that on November 11, 2016 hydro workers had attended a residential property located in Dawn-Euphemia Township in order to interrupt the hydro supply.

As the hydro workers proceeded to perform their duties they were approached by a distraught male resident who had concerns as to their attendance.

As a result, the distraught male retrieved a firearm and used it in an unlawful manner.

The hydro employees left the area immediately and reported the incident to the OPP.

The hydro employees were never assaulted or injured.

As a result of the investigation and execution of a search warrant the OPP have seized a number of firearms and ammunition.

A 39-year-old Dawn-Euphemia Township man has been charged with allegedly and unlawfully possess a firearm or ammunition while prohibited from doing so (9 counts), store a firearm carelessly (3 Counts) and careless use of a firearm (1 count).

In all, the OPP has filed 13 criminal offences against the male.

The male was held in custody pending a bail hearing dated for November 16, 2016.
