Wallaceburg Concert Band making public debut
On Tuesday May 30th, the Wallaceburg Concert Band will make its public debut as it presents ‘The Music Awakens’.
This event will celebrate the rich band heritage in Wallaceburg with the return of live concert music featuring The Wallaceburg Concert Band. Sponsored by the Wallaceburg and District Council for the Arts The Wallaceburg Concert Band will celebrate its first anniversary with a FREE Musical Concert on Tuesday May 30 at 7 p.m. in the Webber Auditorium at Wallaceburg District Secondary school.
Hear the sounds of local musicians as they play their new instruments provided by grants obtained through Musicounts Canada.
You’ll hear a wide variety of music that features a full concert band sound directed by Mr. Dave Babbitt.
Dave has spent a year working with both novices and experienced musicians to bring together a band that is talented, entertaining and proud to be a part of Wallaceburg’s rich musical history.
Call your family and friends and make it a night out to remember.
For more information, contact Dave Babbitt at 519-627-9803.
Survey launches for employers and job seekers
Every year in January the Chatham-Kent Workforce Planning Board invites employers to share their challenges and stories through the EmployerOne Survey.
If we want to present the full story, we need to also hear from our workforce (which includes job seekers and employees alike).
This survey will help us identify some of the “supply side” data we have been missing. Things like:
– Who is in our workforce?
– What education and training do they have?
– Are they working in their field?
– If they are job searching, what barriers are they facing?
The survey will run for the month of May and will be open to anyone living in Chatham-Kent. We want to hear from those who are working, job searching, or doing a little of both!
The survey can be found at www.ckworkforcedev.com starting on Monday, May 1, 2017.
Survey results will be shared with the community in June 2017.
CKWPB is committed to ongoing research to enhance local labour market planning in the Chatham-Kent region. To learn more about the Chatham-Kent Workforce Planning Board and its activities in Chatham-Kent, please visit our website at ckworkforcedev.com.
