Cocaine, meth, knife seized after traffic stop

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege yesterday morning, police observed a black GMC Jimmy pulling a camping trailer northbound on Princess Street in Chatham.

A traffic stop was initiated as the officer noticed the lights on the trailer were not working.

Through investigation, the officer learned that the licence plates on the trailer were stolen.

A 33-year-old man of no fixed address, a 39-year-old man of no fixed address and a 36-year-old Thamesville man were all arrested and charged with being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the 33-year-old man was found to be in possession of a knife, cocaine and methamphetamine.

He was additionally charged with being in possession of a prohibited weapon, failing to comply with his Prohibition Order and two counts of drug possession.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the 39-year-old man was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

He was additionally charged with drug possession.

He was released pending a future court date of September 20, 2018.

The 36-year-old man was released pending a future court date of September 20, 2018.
