Masks being delivered to Walpole Island residents

Walpole Island First Nation officials say masks are set to be delivered to residents across the community.

“Masks will be dropped off at your door over the next few days,” Walpole Island officials posted on social media on Friday, May 22, 2020.

“For the safety of our staff and volunteers, please bring your dog in or tie it up, and maintain physical distancing.”

A total of 13 positive COVID-19 cases have been confirmed on the First Nation reserve.

Nine of their cases are resolved and one person has died, Walpole Island officials added.

A total of 50 community members have been tested, while 33 of the tests have came back negative.

There are four tests results that are pending.

Walpole Island First Nation officials say if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, contact the Health Centre 519-627-0765 or telehealth after hours or on weekends at 1-877-797-0000.

If you think you may have COVID-19 symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who has symptoms, please self-isolate and use the Ontario Self-Assessment Tool to determine if you need to seek further care.
