Police: Fail to stop in Wallaceburg, counterfeit money, weapons, drugs

Fail to stop investigation on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A patrol officer attempted a routine traffic stop on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.

The driver failed stop when the officer activated his emergency equipment.

The vehicle pulled off the side of the road in the distance, but then fled again when patrol officers were in the area.

The male driver could be identified and is known to police.

Charges will be sought when the man located.

The investigation is continuing.

Weapons charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A male was arrested by an outside agency for outstanding warrants for failing to appear on drug charges.

The male was transported to Chatham-Kent Headquarters.

A search of his property revealed he had in his possession items that breached a previous release.

The male was charged additionally with possession of prohibited weapon and breach of release condition. 

He was released with a future court date of August 11, 2020.

Counterfeit money

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Officers on patrol located a woman who had outstanding warrants with the OPP for possession of counterfeit money.

The woman was transported to Chatham-Kent Headquarters where she was
eventually turned over to the OPP.

Stolen credit card and drug charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A man was located walking on Lacroix Street in Chatham who was wanted by police for possession and use of a stolen credit card.

When arrested, the man was searched and found to have a small quantity of drugs in his possession.

He was released on both stolen credit card and drug possession charges with a future court date.
