Man charged with failing to comply

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: In 2018, a man was released from court with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was not to attend the residence of a Tilbury woman.

Yesterday morning, the man was observed in the woman’s driveway.

The 56-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.

He was released pending a future court date of September 15, 2020.

Man charged with failing to stop

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, an officer on general patrol attempted to stop a man, known to be a suspended driver, riding a motorcycle on Margaret Avenue in Wallaceburg.

The man failed to stop for the officer and sped away.

The officer located the motorcycle on Lafontaine Street a short time later and the man was arrested.

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine.

A 24-year-old Dresden man was charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving while under suspension, breach of probation and two counts of drug possession.

He was released pending a future court date in September.

Man charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in Wheatley.

A 21-year-old Wheatley man was arrested and charged with assault.

He was released pending a future court date of October 28, 2020.

Disturbance leads to assault charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a disturbance over a parking spot on McNaughton Avenue in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the man swung a baseball bat towards a man and pushed a second man.

The 60-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault and assault with a weapon.

He was released pending a future court date of September 8, 2020.

Man charged with drug possession

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 1:30 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol observed a suspicious man on Lowe Avenue in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, the man was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and psilocybin.

A 35-year-old Wallaceburg was charged with failing to comply with his release conditions by being in possession of illicit drugs and two counts of drug possession.

He was released pending a future court date of September 11, 2020.

Theft of ATV

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday, unknown suspects entered an unlocked barn on Chenal Road and stole a red 2012 Suzuki ATV.
