Neighbour dispute leads to charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, a verbal argument began outside on Wellington Street in Chatham between neighbours.

During the argument, the man threatened the woman and sprayed her with a garden hose.

The 26-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with uttering threats, assault and failing to comply with his release conditions by not notifying police of his change in address.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with breach of probation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 16, 2020 a man entered into a probation order with several conditions.

Two of those conditions stated that he was not to communicate with a specific Wallaceburg woman or attend within 100 meters of her home.

On Saturday, the man attended the woman’s home and refused to leave.

As the woman called police, the man fled.

Yesterday, the 29-year-old Walpole Island man was arrested and charged with two counts of breach of probation.

He was released pending a future court date of November 18, 2020.

Youths charged with mischief

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 27, 2020 police responded to a mischief complaint at Kinsman Park in Blenheim.

Upon arrival, the officer observed that unknown suspects had spray painted graffiti in the pavilion and on the picnic tables.

The graffiti included racial obscenities and gang related symbols.

Through investigation, police identified the youths responsible.

Early this morning, police located the youths in Chatham and they were arrested.

A 16-year-old Blenheim youth has been charged with mischief.

He was released pending a future court date of November 16, 2020.

A 13-year-old Blenheim youth has been charged with mischief.

She remains in police custody.
