We are currently seeking an experienced Wills and Estates Law Clerk for our growing
law firm located in Wallaceburg, Ontario.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience assisting with
drafting estate and power of attorney documents, corresponding with clients, and
administering estates. Experience in real estate law and/or corporate law is an asset.
The responsibilities for the role of Wills and Estates Clerk include:
ï‚· Supporting lawyers by assembling and organizing client file information;
ï‚· Preparing necessary estate court forms for filing with the court;
 Maintaining lawyers’ calendars by scheduling appointments, task lists and other
arrangements as necessary;
ï‚· Preparing draft correspondence pertaining to various estates matters for review,
approval, and use by lawyers;
ï‚· Serve as a point of contact for clients by providing ongoing file updates;
ï‚· Draft Estate Documentation for review, approval, and use by lawyers;
ï‚· Corresponding and scheduling meetings with clients; and
ï‚· Assisting staff as required.
Qualifications/Experiences
ï‚· Experience in a similar role, or Law Clerk diploma;
ï‚· Excellent organizational skills;
ï‚· Attention to detail;
ï‚· Able to prioritize, handle different tasks on a daily basis;
ï‚· Outgoing, friendly and a team player;
ï‚· Flexible, and able to accommodate to different situations;
ï‚· Able to work under pressure/stress;
ï‚· Positive demeanor and eager to learn;
ï‚· Takes initiative to provide help or assist others;
ï‚· Able to work with minimal supervision;
ï‚· Able to take instructions and notes via different sources;
ï‚· Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel;
ï‚· Basic knowledge of PCLaw; and
ï‚· Basic knowledge of Do Process programs i.e Will Builder.
Compensation is commensurate with experience and skill.
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Three (3) month probationary period
