Library moving all operating hours to curbside service

As the Province prepares for lockdown, the Chatham-Kent Public Library is moving all operating hours toward Curbside Service at all library locations as of December 28, 2020.

For the detailed hours of Curbside Service, people can contact their local branch or visit CKPL online at www.ckpl.ca.

“Please return all library materials to outside book returns only,” library officials said in a media release.

“While COVID protocols are in place, items like Launchpads and Binge Boxes can be returned through the book returns. CKPL will continue to quarantine all returns for a minimum of 72 hours.”

A reminder that books will be checked out for three weeks, Express Reads will be relaunching and check out for one week, magazines and DVDs will return to a one week loan period, library officials say.

“Library staff will be glad to review this information with you as needed,” library officials say.

“All library overdue fees will be reinstated on January 2, 2021. If you have library materials that have been checked out since before CKPL’s closure, please return them to your nearest branch at your earliest convenience.”
