CKRec offering virtual programming

CKRecreation is known for its fun and unique take on recreational offerings, and its venture into virtual programming is no different.

CKRec officials say their team is launching three creative new programs that promote staying active, both physically and mentally, while abiding by all current Public Health guidelines.

The RECess at Home – Powered by the Play Rangers program is designed to help those parents and caregivers of children who are virtually learning by lending out unique play equipment to refresh at-home recess and gym class, CKRec officials say.

The CKRec team is providing contactless pick-up at various parks throughout Chatham-Kent each Monday and drop-off each Friday.

Registration is required for the program with the next pick-up date on February 1 and running for the next three weeks.

Registration for CKRecreation’s Virtual Programming is also now open with classes starting the week of February 1.

Programs include:

– Craft Crew

– STEM Squad

– Shotokan Karate

– Canadian Red Cross Babysitting.

Participants will be provided with a Zoom link to join the live classes each week along with the option of watching the recorded class following each session, CKRec officials say.

Classes will run for six-weeks, with the exception of the Canadian Red Cross Babysitting, which is offered as a one day course.

The Stay (Home) N Play community engagement campaign will encourage Chatham-Kent residents to complete challenges and submit their photos for chances to win weekly prizes and an iPad grand prize at the conclusion of the four week challenge.

The fun starts on Feb 8 on Facebook @CKRecreation and Instagram @staynplayck.
