Wallaceburg’s Dr. Atoe captures rural service award

Wallaceburg’s Dr. Dennis Atoe has been named the recipient of the rural service award this year by the Society of Rural Physicians of Canada.

“The rural service award provides recognition for physicians who live and work in rural Canada and who have served rural communities for at least 10 years,” Society of Rural Physicians of Canada officials say.

Physicians must have been members of the Society of Rural Physicians of Canada for the last five consecutive years to receive the rural service award.

The group hosted their awards ceremony virtually on Friday, April 23, in conjunction with their annual rural and remote medicine course this year.
