SCRCA presents Enbridge Gas with President’s Award

The St. Clair Region Conservation Foundation recognized one of their long-standing corporate sponsors on Monday with the presentation of the Foundation’s esteemed President’s Award.

Enbridge Gas was formally recognized for its outstanding financial support of conservation programs in the St. Clair Region.

“Over the last ten years, Enbridge Gas (formally Enbridge and Union Gas) has donated over $100,000 to the Foundation,” said Duncan Skinner, President of the St. Clair Region Conservation Foundation, in a media release.

“These funds have helped support a number of conservation initiatives and activities in the St. Clair watershed including education, habitat creation, and upgrades to local conservation areas.”

“Enbridge Gas and the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority have a strong, shared history,” said Steven Jelich, Enbridge Gas Director, Southwest Region Operations, in a media release.

“We are pleased to receive this award and we share their commitment to ensuring the natural environments where we live and work are not just protected but enhanced.”

The President’s Award is presented to individuals and organizations to recognize their outstanding generosity to the Foundation, whether it be in the form of financial donations or the donation of land or time as a volunteer.

Monday’s presentation marks the thirteenth time an individual or organization has been recognized by the Foundation for their contributions to conservation in the St. Clair region.

Celebrating its 60th year in 2021, the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority is supported by the St. Clair Region Conservation Foundation – a registered, charitable organization that raises funds to support the conservation programs of the Authority.

“The success of Authority programs and activities are made possible through the support of donors like Enbridge Gas,” said Skinner.

“We truly appreciate their commitment to conservation programs in our watershed.”
