Active COVID-19 case count at 19, community outbreak declared

The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit officials updated their ‘current status’ page of their website on Friday, July 30, 2021.

Public health officials say a total of 128,556 doses have been administered to date, 70,154 people 12+ have received at least one dose and 60,797 people 12+ have received two doses.

The active COVID-19 case count has risen to 19, with four new cases announced on Friday.

The total number of COVID-19 cases sits at 1,919 across Chatham-Kent.

CK Public Health officials say no one is hospitalized with COVID-19 from Chatham-Kent.

A total of 1,883 cases have been resolved.

A new community outbreak was announced on Friday at Community Living Chatham-Kent.

Earlier this week, Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit officials said Dr. David Colby, Medical Officer of Health for Chatham-Kent, is advising unvaccinated and partially vaccinated patrons who received table service at the Red Barn Brewing Company, 20466 Lagoon Rd, Blenheim, Ontario on Friday, July 23 between 6 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. or Sunday, July 25 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., that they may have been exposed to COVID-19. 13 of the active cases are linked to close contact, three are linked to the community outbreak, two are unknown and one case has information pending.

CK Public Health officials say a total of 258 Chatham-Kent residents have had COVID-19 with a variant of concern or related mutation.

A total of 121,887 tests for the virus have been completed to date.

Since the pandemic began last March, a total of 17 people from Chatham-Kent have died from COVID-19.
