Hearts Together for CK Hospice live stream set for September 23

Throughout the summer officials at the Chatham-Kent Hospice asked the community to donate a day (or more) of hospice care for a resident and their family.

Chatham-Kent has been generous in their response and to date has helped raise 83% of their $110,000 goal – one month of Hospice care.

On Thursday, September 23 at 7 p.m. the Hospice will host their second Hearts Together for CK Hospice live stream.

It will feature some light-hearted, fun games and recognize the difference your kindness has made to Hospice families; families like the Vavoulis’.

“The worst moment for me was having him leave the house that he built with my mom, that we grew up in and all the memories that are here. But when we drove up [to Hospice] a little bit of that pain subsided seeing the staff waiting for us. Everyone understood what we were going through,” stated Fannie Vavoulis, in a media release.

One day of care for one family costs $362, Hospice officials say.

By donating a day of care you can help residents and their families make the most of every day by supporting the care they need during a very difficult time.

This care not only includes pain and symptom management for the resident, but emotional and spiritual support for the resident and their loved ones.

“We are asking the community to help us reach our goal by September 23 so families can make the most of the time they have left together to connect and say good-bye,” Hospice officials say.

Donations can be made at www.heartstogetherck.com, over the phone at 519-354-3113 ext. 2403 or by mailing/dropping off a cheque to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation 34 Wellington St East, Chatham ON N7M 3N7.
