A third body has been recovered after a fire in Wallaceburg.
“Fire crews remain on scene at 315 Elgin Street in Wallaceburg,” fire officials said in a media release, issued Thursday afternoon.
“The fire is out and the Office of the Fire Marshal is on scene. A third body has been recovered from the basement of the structure.”
The Chatham-Kent Police Service Mobile Command Unit was also spotted at the scene on Thursday afternoon.
As previously reported, Station #3 – Wallaceburg was called out just after 2 a.m. this morning and arrived on scene within minutes.
Crews from Station #2 – Chatham and Wallaceburg volunteer firefighters also responded.
“Two persons rescued from the home have been confirmed deceased,” fire officials stated earlier in the day.
