Aggravated assault charge laid after a domestic disturbance in Tilbury

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 18, 2023, at 5:05 p.m. the police responded to a domestic disturbance on Mill Street in Tilbury.

Upon arrival, police located a man who had sustained severe injuries and was receiving assistance from concerned citizens.

The man was transported to a local hospital for medical attention.

Through investigation, police learned the man and the woman engaged in a verbal argument that escalated when the woman threatened the man with a knife.

A physical altercation ensued, resulting in injury to the man.

The 20-year-old Tilbury woman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

She was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

The woman was remanded into custody until a future court date.
