TransForm announces divestment of its supply chain services to Mohawk Medbuy

TransForm Shared Service Organization (TSSO) officials have announced that, in partnership with its member hospitals (Bluewater Health, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Erie Shores HealthCare, Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, and Windsor Regional Hospital), an agreement has been reached to divest its supply chain services to Mohawk Medbuy (MMC), effective April 1.

The process to transition supply chain services to MMC was initiated last summer and involved robust due diligence, in partnership with the member hospitals, TransForm officials say.

Both TransForm and MMC have a long-standing history of collaboration in order to provide maximum value to their member hospitals and the health care supply chain.

The agreement aligns with the Ontario Government’s objectives to consolidate procurement activities to create efficiencies and increased savings for Ontario taxpayers and the health system, which will result in more funds directed to front-line care – where it is most needed.

This acquisition follows other similar processes undertaken by MMC, including its amalgamation with Plexxus, and the acquisition of St. Joseph’s Health System’s GPO, Northern Supply Chain, 3SO and, most recently, Shared Service West.

“TransForm has worked closely with Mohawk Medbuy for over a decade in providing supply chain services for our member hospitals,” stated Helga Reidel, Board Chair, TransForm Shared Service Organization, in a media release.

“We already enjoy a strong collaborative relationship with MMC and look forward to our continued collaboration, ensuring our stakeholders receive the best value and service in procurement.”

All employees of the Supply Chain division of TransForm will join Mohawk Medbuy on April 1.

This group will continue to be based in Chatham, Ontario and will comprise MMC’s procurement hub for that region.

TransForm will continue to operate and expand, providing award-winning digital health and information technology services to not only its member hospitals, but also the region and extending to the province.

All employees of TransForm’s Supply Chain division will join MMC and comprise the organization’s procurement hub for the region.
