Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 6:18 p.m., police responded to Emma Street in Chatham for an assault investigation.
Officer learned the man and the woman engaged in a verbal argument that escalated when the man assaulted the woman.
The officer also learned of a similar incident that occurred a few days prior.
The 52-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was released with conditions and a future court date of May 13, 2024.
He was charged with assault causing bodily harm and two counts of assault.
